Married Make A Hormone Testosterone Rise

There is some good news behind a marriage. A latest research indicates that married men have testosterone hormone levels were much higher than their counterparts who are unmarried.

As known, naturally, the production of the hormone testosterone goes down over the increasing age of a person. But the latest research reveals a decrease in testosterone production, is not always due to age, but also related to behavior, such as smoking, obesity and depression.

In his studies, researchers analyzed measurements of testosterone on more than 1,500 men. Hormone levels were tested twice, with a distance of each five-year testing. All samples were tested with the same measurement at the time before and after five years.

Associate researcher, Dr. Gary Wittert, from the University of Adelaide found that testosterone level participants average down by 1 percent each year.

However, when divisible subgroup, researchers found in different patterns, where certain factors seem to affect testosterone hormone decline more significant during the period of the study. The largest decline in testosterone production occurs among obese men, had already quit smoking and get depressed.

"When someone stops smoking, decrease in testosterone hormone levels tend to be lower. The benefits of quitting smoking is very big, "Wittert says.

The study also showed that participants who have not married decreased testosterone hormone levels greater than married men.

Wittert says these findings may support other research showing that married men tend to be happier and healthier than single men. He also said that sexual activity on a regular basis tend to increase testosterone levels.

The study was funded by the National Health and Medical Research Council of Australia.

In men, testosterone hormone is produced in the testicles. These hormones control the development of sexual characteristics-functioning man. The existence of hormones is very vital as it affects health, sexual function and fertility as well as help maintain a healthy body composition, develop muscle mass, sufficient amount of red blood cells, and protects the bone density.

"It's important the doctor understands that decreasing testosterone levels is not only a part of the aging process. It is also heavily influenced by behavioral health or health status of the people themselves, "the lid.
